A Guide to Wedding Music

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, and music plays an essential part in setting the tone for the occasion. Music evokes emotions and creates memories that will last a lifetime, so it's essential to choose the right songs for each moment of your wedding day.

Here's a guide to wedding music that will ensure your big day is unforgettable:

Depending on your budget you could go for all of these! Or just one or two! It's totally up to you!

1. Wedding Ceremony

The wedding ceremony is a pretty important part of the day! Instrumental music can be ideal for the ceremony, as it adds a beautiful and emotional backdrop without distracting from the vows, such as solo piano.

If you prefer vocals, we offer a vocal & piano duo, and have performed songs from Elvis' 'I Can't Help Falling in Love with You' to 'Benny and the Jets!' while the family dog walked down the Aisle before the bride! - You can have music while your guests enter, an entrance & exit song for the bride and groom, and then some songs for the signing of the register.

2. Cocktail Hour

While your guests are mingling and enjoying drinks and appetisers, you can set the tone with some upbeat and fun tunes. Consider a mix of classic and contemporary hits that your guests will recognise and enjoy. You can also customise the music to fit your wedding theme or personal style.

3. Reception

As the party gets started, you'll want to keep your guests dancing and having a good time. A live band is an excellent choice for the reception, as we can read the room and play the songs that will get everyo

ne on the dance floor. With us, you can even provide a list of must-play songs and genres that you want to hear to ensure that your favourite tunes get played. It is always the best part of the night and we always bring the party!

4. First Dance

The first dance is a special moment for every couple, and the music should reflect that. Choose a song that's meaningful to you both or a song that fits your style. We have played anything from slow love songs, to 80's cheese and Heavy Rock! Keep in mind the tempo and rhythm of the song, so it's easy to dance to, and consider customising the song with a slower or faster tempo to fit your style.

You may also not want to be in the limelight, and that's ok too! You could choose a song with a slow first verse and then have the singer get everyone up and dancing and get faster!

5. Last Dance

As the night comes to an end, have a song that will leave a lasting impression. Bohemian Rhapsody, or Angels... 'nuff said. Be sure to have a good time as you enjoy your last dance with family and friends.

Work with your band to choose the best songs for the crowd! Don't have too many slow songs, and accept that the band are the experts :P But always let them know your must have songs, and any that are super sentimental to you!

And don't forget, anything the band don't play, you can stick in your DJ set after!

In conclusion, wedding music is a critical element of your big day, and taking the time to choose the right band and songs for each moment is essential. Whether you prefer instrumentals, vocals, or modern hits, there's a song for every wedding theme and personal style. With the right music, your wedding day will be unforgettable, and the memories will last a lifetime.
